The city of Quincy is now taking bids for a proposed member health clinic.
The city takes bids every three to four years to explore more options when it comes to healthcare coverage.
The clinic would benefit around 350 city employees in the Quincy area.
In the last four years, the city has seen the cost of healthcare coverage jump 45 percent.
Mayor Kyle Moore says while a lower cost of coverage is important, there are more factors that come with a new health clinic.
"Sure cost is important," Moore said. "But what is their ability to provide service? What is the level of service they're delivering to our employees? Certainly with the proposal, it gives us a few options so that way it's not the lowest person wins," he added.
Bids for the clinic will be due the middle of August with a decision coming sometime in the fall.
