Quincy-area residents gave above and beyond the call of duty for those in need during the holidays.Friday, the Quincy Salvation Army announced its totals for the 2009 Christmas Campaign.
It raised more than $346,000. That's $21,000 above its goal.
Co-Chairs Michael and Ginny Gully thanked supporters for donating their time, money, food and toys, which all helped make the campaign success.
You might recall the number of people needing help from the Quincy Salvation Army increased because of the economy -- many of those were looking for help for the first time.
