Quincy Police Officers have sexual assault suspect in custody

The Quincy Police Department has a Hannibal man in custody on charges involving sexual assault on Friday afternoon.

Joseph Shuck, 29, was determined as the suspect in this case by QPD detectives.

Officers responded to a report of a sexual assault taking place in a car in a parking lot on the 500 block of N. 24th Street around 2:19 p.m. on Friday. After further investigation, officers learned that the victim was taken to the address of 7320 County Road 426 in Hannibal where the sexual assault continued.

According to Investigative Lieutenant Dina Dreyer with QPD, the victim was able to clearly identify Shuck as the suspect. Officers had Shuck in custody around 8 p.m Friday night.

With the coordinated effort between QPD and the Marion County Sheriff's Department, Shuck was developed to be a suspect from a similar case that took place on October 21, 2012. That case also started in Quincy, and ended at 7320 County Road 426, Hannibal, Mo.

Shuck faces charges of Aggravated Kidnapping, Aggravated Criminal Sexual Assault, and Aggravated Sexual Abuse.
