Quincy Police Department took to the streets to share Christmas cheer

Participating QPD law enforcement officials

Stefel and Hy-Vee teamed up giving QPD around $3,000 in gift cards to distribute to Quincy residents.

While officers were out patroling streets, other law enforcement officials from the district volunteered their time to spread Christmas cheer.

"Locally we have great support. They felt that it was very important to paint the police in a different light in just doing their jobs so they came to us last year with this idea and it worked very well last year,” says Quincy Police Chief Rob Copley.

This is the second year for the Project Christmas Cheer Program.

Quincy Police Chief Rob Copley tells KHQA the program is already grown from the first year.

Officers also handed out gifts and books to children around town.
