Quincy police arrest man involved in meth fire

Donald McClelland

Quincy police are no longer searching for a man involved in a meth-related fire that occurred last Friday.

Donald K. McClelland II was arrested Wednesday at 11:28 a.m. after officers were called to an apartment in the 400 block of Hampshire.

According to the Quincy Police Department, the owner of the apartment told police that it was supposed to be empty, but clothing and other personal items were found there. That's when officers searched the apartment and found McClelland.

McClelland faces charges of aggravated participation in methamphtamine production, possession of methamphetamine, possession of cannabis and felony retail theft.

On Friday, May 16 police connected McClelland to a fire at 517 Sycamore caused by what they called a meth lab.

Police responded to a call at 517 Sycamore at around 1:02 Friday morning. Upon arrival the fire had been put out.

McClelland is lodged in the Adams County Jail.
