      Quincy Park District wants public opinion on plan

      Quincy-area residents had a chance to see what the future holds for the Quincy Park District.

      It held an open house this evening to get public input about its new comprehensive plan.

      The plan includes improvements to Wavering Aquatic Center and Cedar Creek Linear Park.

      Board Commissioner Jeff VanCamp said, "The main thing we want to do with the park board right now is our main focus is to take care of what we got."

      Comments will be shared with the Quincy Park Board of Commissioners before it votes on the plan December 14th.If you did *not* get to see the plan, you can find it by clicking here.


      The Quincy Park District will hold a public open house on Wednesday at the Emerson Community Center located at 1310 Washington.

      The open house will be for the purpose of receiving public input on the Draft Comprehensive Plan.

      It takes a look at parks and facilities, outlining specific goals and objectives for each and for administration while establishing a financial plan with two options for funding.
