Quincy officials help locals check their car seats
According to Safe Kids Adams County, 500 children die on the world's roads every day - that's one child every three minutes.
Quincy firefighters, police officers, and the Adams County Health Department are coming together to do free car seat checkups.
They do this to prevent unintentional childhood accidents.
Officials say car accidents are one of the leading causes of death for young people.
And parent's don't realize how much goes into putting in a car seat.
"Engineers work really, really hard for car seats and cars to be safe for our kids to travel in and most car seats are actually put in incorrectly," said Firefighter Michael Dade.
To make sure your car seat works correctly you can attend next months Buckle Up Event on June 16th to get it checked.
