Wardell Monroe pleaded guilty in case of heroin overdose death

A Quincy man pleaded guilty in connection to the death of a Quincy man who died from a heroin overdose.

Wardell Monroe, Jr, 37, was charged with one count of drug induced homicide for distributing heroin that resulted in death.

An indictment alleged Monroe delivered the drug on July 8, 2015, which resulted in a man's death.

Wardell is scheduled to be sentenced August 25.

The Adams County Sheriff's Office Investigative Unit, West Central Illinois Task Force, and the Adams County coroner investigated this case.
