Quincy man dies in Michigan when his semi strikes train

A Quincy man died Thursday after his semi crashed into a train near the Indiana and Michigan Border.

WWMT reports that Bobby Abell, 77, of Quincy was killed in the crash near the town of White Pigeon, Mich.

Gates and lights at the crossing were functioning at the time of the crash, police told WWMT.

Abell was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy is scheduled to determine whether Abell had a medical condition prior to the collision.

A railroad worker suffered minor injuries.
