      Quincy man accused of shooting friend makes plea in court

      Zachary Ballinger, 21

      A Quincy man charged in the shooting death of his friend has pleaded not guilty.

      Zachary Ballinger, 21, is charged with involuntary manslaughter.

      Police say he used a semi-automatic rifle to kill 21-year-old Austin Michael Hermann.

      Ballinger faces between two to five years in prison.

      In court records KHQA obtained Wednesday morning, he waived his right to a preliminary hearing.

      Next is trial, set for August 11.
