Quincy man accused in home invasion case appears in court

One of two men arrested in a Quincy home invasion appeared in Adams County Court Friday morning.
James D. Phillips, 18, was arrested on home invasion and burglary charges July 23, two days after he and another man allegedly forced their way into a home at 9th and Locust.
The second suspect, 23-year-old Chadwick Kelly, was arrested in Tennessee and is awaiting extradition back to Illinois.
Phillips appeared in court Friday with a public defender and a preliminary hearing was set for August 19.
He remains in Adams County Jail on a $75,000 bond.
