The Historic Quincy Business District director is getting a little excited about an upcoming conference next month that will showcase the city.
Travis Brown says the annual Illinois Main Street Conference is scheduled to meet in Quincy on September 12th through the 14th.
Brown expects between 150 and 200 attendees to converge on the city during that time.
It's the first time that Quincy has hosted the conference since it started in 1996.
"It's one of those things that Quincy does very very well. Even though our conference is on economic development issues. When people come back we want them to be thinking and talking about our customer service that we offer them while they're here at the conference," Brown said.
Brown says the organization is looking for about 40 volunteers to help with the conference.
Volunteers will help with everything from setting up before the sessions to greeting visitors at the Amtrak station.
