Quincy firefighters contain Thursday morning attic fire

Firefighters continue to investigate the cause of the fire at 1315 Locust St.

The Quincy Fire Department responded to an early morning house fire on Locust St.

Amid bouts of heavy rainfall the fire department dealt with an attic fire at 1315 Locust St.

When crews arrived they found heavy smoke coming from the eaves and the roof of the home.

"We were able to put that out really fairly quickly and we checked the rest of the house. It seemed to be okay, but looks to be an attic fire right now. I'm not saying it started in the attic but that's where the fire ended up being," Tom Bentley, Quincy's Assistant Fire Chief said.

Firefighters continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
