Quincy council approves Kentucky street closing proposal

The Quincy City Council approved a plan to close Kentucky street between 8th and 9th three times a day on Monday night.

Representatives from the Quincy Public Schools approached the city transportation committee with a request to stop traffic on Kentucky three times a day.

Kentucky Street runs along side of Quincy's Early Childhood and Family Center.

Traffic will be halted on the street at 10:50 a.m., 11:20 a.m. and 3:05 p.m. for 20 minutes each time.

The change will start on the first day of school which is August 21st.

The council also adopted some changes to the zoning ordinances for the city.
