Quincy City Council to vote on traffic signal relocation on Broadway
QUINCY, IL —
Quincy city leaders plan to vote on a measure that would relocate traffic lights at 12th and Broadway
That's because tractor trailers often fail to make the turn, knocking down the traffic light.
Director of Utilities and City Engineering Jeffrey Conte says this poses a safety risk for other drivers as well.
“It is dangerous for a light pole to come crashing down. So, there is a huge liability there as well as when it comes down it takes us a few weeks to get a traffic signal back up, a permanent one,” said Conte.
The council will vote on a bid for $120,806.45.
If approved, Browns Electric Construction will move the traffic signals.
