Quincy church hosting annual feast to raise money for restoring organ
On Friday, Church St. Rose of Lima will celebrate its annual Feast of Saint Patrick.
On the menu is corned beef and cabbage.
Traditionally, all Catholics abstain from eating meat on Fridays during Lent but the Pastor has granted a special pass especially for this event.
All the money raised will go towards refurbishing the church's 100-year-old organ.
"I think it will be a fun day. This is hte 9th annual one that we have had but specifically the proceeds go as a kick off for our organ fund," said organist Charlotte Stroot.
The church needs to raise $100,000 to repair and restore the organ.
Friday's event is being held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
