Quincy University students covered in multicolored powder made their way around town Sunday to help a fellow student fight to survive.
The Strides for Shannon Color Run and Fun Walk was created to raise money for the family of Shannon Peters.
Peters was hospitalized in January after being struck by a car, and is still recovering from the accident.
Participants could either walk a mile or take on the 5K race.
Colored corn starch was thrown on the runners to add another element to the race.
Around 170 people participated and raised around $5,000.
