The Quincy Police Department will try mediation instead of arbitration to come up with a contract agreement.
That's what Chief Rob Copley reported at the Quincy City Council Monday night according to the Quincy Journal .
This concerns contracts for both the patrol officer and sergeants. Both groups have been working without a contract for about a year.
They are trying to come up with a new contract that will last for 3 years.
The alderman also passed a resolution that would appropriate 1.1 million dollars into the motor fuel tax funds.
City engineer Jeff Steinkamp says that over the next few months a decision will be made on which roads will get worked on.
