Pro-pot group brings statewide campaign to Hannibal
Mon, 04 Aug 2014 16:32:33 GMT —
A group called Show-Me Cannabis will host a town hall meeting Monday night in Hannibal.
The 90-minute session will take place at the Hannibal Public Library at 200 S. 5th St. at 6 p.m.
The group will present information about Missouri cannabis laws and discuss how Missouri residents might reform them.
According to the Associated Press, Show-Me Cannabis submitted 10 different legalization proposals to Missouri elections officials earlier this year for a possible statewide ballot initiative, but the group ultimately decided to postpone its efforts until the 2016 presidential election.
Show-Me Cannabis Board Chair and criminal defense attorney Dan Viets, Show-Me Cannabis Executive Director John Payne and the Old Monroe Police Chief and Law Enforcement Agains Prohibition speaker Tony Kirk will attend the meeting.
