Preliminary hearing for woman charged in fatal DUI crash

The Clayton, Illinois woman charged with two counts of aggravated driving under the influence in connection to a fatal crash last year was in court Monday, March 1st.

22 year old Brianne Buss is the driver of the car that killed 46-year-old Lesa Richmiller and injured her 13 year old daughter in an accident near Paloma in November 2009.

During questioning, an Adams County Sheriff's deputy said less than two hours after the crash Buss' blood was drawn at Blessing Hospital.

She was found to have a blood alcohol level of .098.

Buss had also admitted she had been drinking earlier in the night and that she fell asleep while driving and woke up just before the accident.

Monday, a judge found that probable cause does exist in this case.

Buss is to be back in court for arraignment Tuesday March 16th.
