A 19-year-old Quincy woman involved in a head-on collision on Missouri 19 in northeast Missouri has come a long way and has a long road to travel back to health.
KHQA checked in with Katie Lentz' mother on Monday who reported that Lentz is still recovering in Blessing Hospital.
She's undergone surgeries for several broken bones and has more to undergo in the future.
Lentz's mother reported that some days are better than others but said her daughter remains positive about the difficult physical rehabilitation ahead.
Lentz's story sparked international attention two weeks ago when a mysterious priest walked up to the accident scene and prayed out loud with her and rescue crews during the extrication.
Father Patrick Dowling with the Jefferson City Diocese stepped forward last week to solve that mystery.
