Police respond to shots fired at Dallas City residence

Police responded to gunshots at a Dallas City residence early Saturday morning, according to police.

Around 11:40 p.m. Friday, a man, 54, was asked to leave a Dallas City liquor establishment.

He allegedly threatened to shoot several subjects inside the establishment.

The man claimed to have immediate access to a firearm.

The subject left the establishment and returned to his residence.

Neighbors reported hearing three gunshots.

Officers from the Dallas City Police Department and deputies from the Hancock County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene at 12:25 a.m. Saturday.

On arrival, the subject's roommate exited the residence and spoke with officers.

Officers removed the roommate from the scene.

The subject appeared in the doorway, but refused officer's commands to exit the residence.

He returned inside and cut off communication with the officers.

No arrests were made and no injuries were reported.

The Hancock County Sheriff's Office and the Illinois State Police are assisting the Dallas City Police Department with the investigation.
