Police identify victim in Columbia, MO homicide; son of Clark County Judge
Columbia, Missouri police are investigating a homicide after a male victim was pronounced dead near a residence in Lasso Circle.
The Columbia Police Department identified the victim in Monday's homicide as Augustus Jackson Roberts, 28, of Columbia.
The Columbia Daily Tribune states Roberts as the son of 1st Judicial Circuit Judge Rick Roberts.
Officers responded to the 1900 block of Lasso Circle around 3:30 a.m. in reference to a suspicious person. When police responded to the scene, a man was said to not be breathing. After emergency personnel provided aid to the victim, he was ultimately pronounced dead.
Detectives and a forensics team worked the scene, attempting to gather information from neighbors.
Police said they had no suspect description and could not comment on the manner of death.
According to WTAD, Roberts was a 2008 graduate of Clark County High School.
