Pike County, Illinois burn ban

A burn ban goes into effect in Pike County, Illinois on Tuesday.

The Pike County Emergency Management Agency has issued a county wide burn ban beginning on Tuesday, March 18 from 7 a.m. to midnight.

Coordinator David Greenwood says that the ban was issued due to expected winds, low humidity and dry fuels.

According to the agency, it is advisable not to burn through Sunday, March 23 due to elevated fire danger.
