Pike County barn total loss after fire

The aftermath of a Monday morning barn fire in Pike County that authorities are calling suspicious

A vehicle stolen from a Quincy organization was found hours later in a barn that caught fire in Pike County.

According to the Quincy Police Department, a white box truck was reported stolen from Transitions, 631 N. 48th St. in Quincy around 11 p.m. Sunday night.

It was parked at a loading dock on the east side of the building.

That vehicle was later found inside the barn when it caught fire early Monday morning.

Pike County Sheriff Paul Petty deemed the fire suspicious Monday afternoon.

A call for a truck on fire near the Hannibal interstate turnoff came in around 3:30 a.m.

When KHQA arrived on scene at E. 1100th St., it was determined that a barn was actually on fire.

Barry, Hull-Kinderhook and New Canton fire departments responded to the call.

Crews had to truck in water in order to put the blaze out.
