Photo released of weapon found next to man following Quincy officer-involved shooting

Photograph of the weapon found next to the decedent at the scene.

According to the Adams County State's Attorney's Office, the Illinois State Police have completed all interviews with relevant witnesses relating to an officer-involved shooting on Monday, May 14th in Quincy.

They are now in the process of preparing reports to be reviewed by the Adams County State’s Attorney’s Office.

The Adams County State’s Attorney’s Office has released two photographs.

The first is a photograph of the weapon found next to the decedent at the scene.

The second photograph is a photograph of a Springfield XD, a semi-automatic firearm.

The Adams County State’s Attorney’s Office will confirm the weapon found at the scene was not a firearm, but was a pellet gun.

The Adams County State’s Attorney’s Office will review the witness statements, physical evidence, and other various reports in the near future and determine if any additional action is necessary.
