Part of Highway 61 closed after tanker spills vegetable oil in crash
Officials responded to a vehicle crash on Highway 61 in Palmyra early Monday morning.
Palmyra Police tell KHQA a semi truck rear-ended a tanker truck in the northbound lane of Highway 61 near the Business 61 exit.
The tanker truck was carrying vegetable oil which spilled multiple gallons into the roadway.
The highway completely reopened around 2:30 Monday afternoon.
Palmyra PD says the crash is still under investigation.
The Palmyra Fire Department and Marion County Sheriff's Office assisted with the crash.
Both drivers were transported from the scene to Blessing Hospital with moderate injuries.
