Parrish lawsuit against Lewis County 911 can move forward

Sheriff wins temporary injunction against Lewis County 911 board

A court has ruled on an attempt by the Lewis County 911 board to dismiss a lawsuit by Sheriff David Parrish.

The 911 board sought to turn over its services to the Marion County 911 system. But Sheriff Parish was not in favor of that action and went to court over the matter.

Sheriff Parish sent out a news release Sunday that says on December 26 the court issued a preliminary injunction preventing the board from entering into an agreement with Marion County 911.

The next hearing will be by phone on March 7, 2014.

The 911 Board has 30 days to respond to Sheriff Parrish's petition for a permanent injunction.

It is not known when the full hearing will take place.
