One-year anniversary of Hannibal woman's disappearance

It's been a year since a Hannibal woman went missing.Christina Whitaker was last seen at a Hannibal sports bar November 13th, 2009.

      She never returned home.

Whitaker's daughter, Alexandria, was 6-months old at the time of her mother's disappearance.

Christina's mother, Cindy Young, now cares for the toddler.

Young and her husband travel throughout the region, posting flyers and chasing down leads in hopes of finding their loved one.

KHQA's Rajah Maples spoke with Young last week about this difficult one-year anniversary.

Yound said, "In a way, you say a year, but to me, it seems like I Haven't seen her in two or three years. I've had a lot of mixed emotions. It's just a nightmare. You never wake up. It's a never-ending nightmare, and you never wake up. You go to bed every night wondering where your child is."

KHQA also spoke with Lt. John Zerbonia with the Hannibal Police Department. He says the department continues to get new information about the case -- some of it credible, and some of it not.

If you have any information about her whereabouts, you're asked to contact the Hannibal Police Department at (573) 221-0987

Young also has hired a private investigator to find Whitaker. His name is Bill Rinehart, and he can be reached at (217) 228-9114.
