One dead, one injured in southeast Iowa rollover crash

A Mount Pleasant, Iowa man died and another was injured in a late Sunday crash near Fort Madison.

Jonathan Wayne Selby, 20, of Mount Pleasant died after the 8 p.m. crash that took place in the 2800 block of County Road 103 about a mile northwest of Fort Madison.

Megan E. Gonzalez, 18, also of Mount Pleasant, and Christopher James Hines, 33, of Des Moines were also in the vehicle.

The Lee County Sheriff's Office said Selby was distracted when the car left the road and rolled several times.

Selby and Hines were ejected from the vehicle.

Selby was flown to Blessing Hospital where he later died from the injuries suffered in the crash.

Hines was taken to the University of Iowa City Hospitals with severe injuries.

Gonzalez wasn't injured. She was the only vehicle occupant wearing a seat belt.
