      "Official-looking" scam targets Missourians

Missouri Attorney General Koster warns of "official looking" scam.

Missourians are being targeted by a new scam that has the sound and look of an official government agency.

Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster sent out a warning to all Missourians who may have a received a letter reading they have won more than a million dollars in cash and prizes.

The letter says that in order to get the prizes, the winners have to pay fees and taxes to several government agencies including the Missouri Attorney General's office.

Koster says the letter comes on what appears to be official letterhead.

Other agencies included in the scam are the FBI, the Department of Justice and the IRS.
