Octoberfest puts High School bands on the move

The bands came marching in.

The bands came marching in Saturday on Quincy's Maine Street.

The 18th annual Octoberfest brought bands from across the Tri-States to Quincy for the chance to show what they are made of.

Octoberfest consists of a parade and a field competition.

The parade started at Quincy Senior High School and ended at Quincy Junior High School.

The field competition was held at Flynn Stadium.

Each school band performed for a number of prizes.

This event is one of the largest fundraisers for QHS's Friends of Performing Arts.

Sixteen high schools participated in the event.

Some came from as far as two hours away just to strut down Maine Street.
