No money for summer energy program

Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program in Illinois or LIHEAP is not going to assist folks with their summer energy bills.
The State of Illinois says there is no money available to help this summer.
Last year in the Quincy area, LIHEAP assisted more then 600 households with their bills.
The state says their decision is necessary to save money for the heating program this winter.
North East Community Action Corporation or NECAC in Missouri does have money this year but in just 3 days they had distributed 23 percent of the $313,000 in summer Energy Crisis Intervention Program which began June 1.
