      No confidence vote results delayed

Some of the following information came from :

The results of a fire union no confidence vote against suspended Hannibal Fire Chief Tim Carter were not presented as expected during Tuesday afternoon's meeting of the Fire Board at city hall.

Capt. Charles Paxton, president of Hannibal Firefighters Local 1211, acknowledged that the vote has been completed, but added the results were not submitted during the board's monthly meeting. Asked about the outcome of the vote, Paxton reiterated that he did not intend to release the results until after they were first given to the city's Fire Board members - Councilmen Barry Louderman, Jason Janes and Kevin Knickerbocker. Paxton did not indicate when he intended to turn the vote results over to the Fire Board.

A new date has not been set yet for Carter's impeachment hearing. The judge first assigned to the case cited a possible conflict of interest, so a new judge will hear the case. Carter's attorney has told KHQA that Carter is willing to take the case "all the way" in court.

Carter has been on paid administrative leave since late last year.
