A new solar plant is now calling the Tri-States home.
The Illinois Rural Electric Cooperative will hold a ribbon cutting Friday afternoon for the Scott County Solar Plant in Winchester, Illinois.
This is the first solar facility built by and electric cooperative in the state.
Senators Dick Durbin and John Sullivan are expected to be there.

The plant located on Illinois State Highway 106 was partially funded by a state renewable energy program and the USDA.
