New headquarters highlight of Park Board meeting

On Wednesday night the Quincy Park Board agreed to begin negotiations with Klingner and Associates to work on a design for the Park District's new headquarters.

Last month the board agreed to let bids for 900 thousand dollars in general obligation bonds that would be paid off over 10 years.

Our news gathering partners at WTAD report that the board accepted a bid of 2.7 percent fixed interest rate for the bonds fro People's Prosperity Bank of Quincy.

The board also gave the go ahead for the the Friends of the Log Cabins to begin clean up and restoration work to the Log Cabin Village.

The Board approved phase one of a plan for the project.

The Park Board also approved a bid from Diamond Construction for $105,181.15 to resurface the road and parking lot at Clat Adams Park and part of the road running running over the dam at Moorman Park.

The Board also gave its support to a resolution from the Friends of the Trail.

The group has started a fundraising campaign to raise $500, 000 to complete the work on the Cedar Creek Trail.

The park district has agreed to match that amount and give special recognition to donors who contribute as certain levels.
