NEMO ambulance director charged with underaged incest

Richard Koenig, 35

The Clark County ambulance director is behind bars after he was accused of having sex with an underage child.

Richard Koenig, 35, was arrested at his home shortly after 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Clark County Sheriff Paul Gaudette said.

He's charged with felony counts of statutory sodomy, endangering the welfare of a child and incest.

Koenig is new to the Clark County Ambulance District. He replaced Cinda James in April after she retired.

Koenig is being held at the Clark County Jail on a $100,000 bond. He made his first court appearance Wednesday.

Gaudette said that the Kahoka Police Department fielded the initial complaint. The case was turned over to the Missouri Highway Patrol's Division of Drug and Crime Control which is often called upon to investigate public officials.

The Clark County Prosecuting Attorney's Office issued a warrant Wednesday prior to Koenig's arrest.
