Mushroom hunters, do you have permission to enter?

Mushroom hunters are venturing out / file photo

The Marion County Sheriff TMs Office has received numerous calls of people (mushroom hunters) hunting on other peoples land without permission.

On at least two different occasions this has escalated into confrontational meetings with the land owner and the hunters.

Marion County Sheriff, Jimmy Shinn urges anyone before they go hunting to be sure that they have permission to be on someone else TMs property before entering.

Many property owners have posted "No Trespassing" signs on their property or some type of purple marking which is also a sign for "No Trespassing". These purple markings may be on the fence posts or painted on a tree line.

The Sheriff TMs office in no way wants to discourage any type of hunting in Marion county, but please be aware of your surroundings and be sure that you are on the property that you have permission to be on or you could be subject to arrest for trespassing.

What do you think? Has your land been trespassed upon? We want your comments below or on our Facebook page.
