Motorcyclist dies in crash after fleeing police

UPDATED: Monday, September 23 at 11 p.m.

Quincy police released lab results for Carl A. Wollbrink Monday night.

According to a news release, lab results came back negative for alcohol.

The news release also stated this his driving privileges were revoked in the state of Missouri.



A motorcyclist that fled from Quincy Police is dead.

According to the Police Department, an officer tried to pull over the motorcyclist last night for a traffic violation on 18th and Broadway.

The motorcyclist, 21-year-old Carl A. Wollbrink, of Quincy, then fled south on 18th Street at a high rate of speed where he struck an SUV while driving west on Maine Street at 18th.

Police say Wollbrink ran a red stop light at Maine where he collided with the SUV.

Wollbrink was transported to Blessing Hospital and pronounced dead.

The driver of the SUV, 55-year-old Martha R. Pappenfoht, of Quincy, was also taken to Blessing, was treated and released.

The investigation is ongoing.
