Illinois State Police are now increasing patrols in McDonough County to prevent DUIs.
Officials say the increased patrols allow ISP to better focus on preventing, detecting and taking action against impaired driving and illegal transportation of alcohol and other drugs.
Alcohol and drug impairment are factors in nearly 40 percent of all fatal car crashes in Illinois.
The increased police presence will start May 1st.
