The Missouri Department of Transportation wants to know your thoughts on a road construction project.
Residents voiced concerns on Tuesday about improvements to Missouri Highway 79.
But Tuesday MoDOT eased the tension of many of the concerned.
This project will resurface some damaged spots on 79, upgrade the shoulders on the highway and create a bike lane.
Each year, MoDOT has a project like this one. They decide what area needs the most help ... and then they go on to fix it.
The project will cost around $4,000,000.
It is funded through a fuel tax taken each year.
A majority of the people's main concern at the open house was, will this construction get in the way of my living situation?
After listening to a presentation, it was shown that alternate paths will help people get around during the construction project.
The project is set to begin on July 8 depending on the weather. It is set to be finished by early next fall.
