Mo. governor makes Marion County prosecutor a judge

A Marion County prosecutor will become an associate circuit judge in Knox County.

Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon announced Wednesday that he appointed Tom Redington to replace retiring judge William Alberty.

Redington has served as Marion County's prosecuting attorney since 1996. He's tried more than 100 jury trials. Prior to his election, he worked at a private practice.

He's a graduate of Quincy University and received his law degree from the University of Seattle School of Law.

â??Tom Redington has been a great public servant as the Marion County Prosecuting Attorney, and I know he will continue that outstanding public service on the bench in Knox County,â?? Nixon said. "I am pleased to appoint him as the countyâ??s new Associate Circuit Judge.â??
