      Missouri hosts first Read-In Day

Sarah Deien and her daughter Audrey read their favorite book to kindergarten students at Eugene Field Elementary School in Hannibal
Classrooms across Missouri hosted guest readers with their favorite books. Friday marked the first Missouri School Read-In Day. The state legislature designated this a day where volunteers read at every grade school.

KHQA's Sarah Deien and her daughter Audrey read their favorite book, Goldie Locks has Chicken Pox, to kindergarten students at Eugene Field Elementary School in Hannibal. Sarah also read a book written by third graders in California to a third grade class at Eugene Field. KHQA's Carol Sowers read to Mrs. Humke's kindergarten class at Oakwood Elementary in Hannibal.

The Mark Twain Museum organized the Read-In for area schools.
