A man who was reported missing Thursday morning in Quincy was found dead Thursday night.
According to the Quincy Police Department, David William Leonard, 53, was found dead in a creek bed in a heavily-wooded area around Bob Bangert Park and Parker Heights Park shortly after 6 p.m.
A press release from the department did not specify a cause of death, but KHQA was told Friday that no foul play is suspected.
The family was notified of Leonard's death prior to the press being notified on Thursday and an investigation is ongoing.
Authorities began their search Thursday morning after Leonard's vehicle was found in Quincy's Gardner Park Wednesday night.
Leonard's family last saw him at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. His family began searching for him after he didn't return to his home at 1329 N. 6th St.
"The family said he does often come down to the wooded area to look for artifacts and stuff like that," Quincy Police Department Sgt. Adam Yates said Thursday afternoon.
Sgt. Yates also told KHQA that Leonard had some medical issues that concerned authorities.
Quincy Police contacted Adams County Emergency Search and Rescue for assistance.
More than 20 trained search and rescue members searched the area along with a quad-copter.
