Fishing for Freedom is this weekend, and this year there's a special guest.
Nine-year-old Cody Jackson will fish with some veterans on Sunday, but he's in town for the entire weekend event.
Cody is from Atlanta, Georgia and when he was four he asked his parents why it's so hard to get on an airplane.
They explained the events of September 11th, and since then Cody has been as patriotic as can be.
He is known to greet soldiers at Atlanta's airport to thank them for their service.
Friday morning, he visited the Illinois Veteran's Home in Quincy to thank the veterans.
"They risked their lives in fighting for us and our freedom and our country," Cody Jackson said. "They didn't have to do this. They chose to do this."
Cody is also an author of a coloring book about being a patriot.
You can buy a copy and have it signed Saturday, June 2nd at both Hy-Vee stores in Quincy.
He'll be at the Harrison location from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and at the Broadway location from noon to 1:30 p.m.
You can also find him on Facebook here.
