Michigan man pleads guilty to lesser charge in Clayton ATV crash

Andrew Koster, 30

A Michigan man will not face a reckless homicide charge in the death of a Quincy woman.

Andrew Koster, 30, pleaded guilty Thursday to a lesser misdemeanor driving under the influence charge.

Koster was driving an ATV in September 2012 near Clayton when it overturned and killed his passenger Sarah Birsic, 25.

Koster was originally charged with three felonies including reckless homicide.

Two of those charges were dropped as part of a plea agreement with the Adams County State's Attorney's Office. The third was reduced to a misdemeanor.

He will be sentenced on Oct. 15.
