Mendon woman found outside SUV eleven hours after wreck

UPDATE: Diane Mann is listed in good condition at Blessing Hospital in the intermediate care unit. (Monday, February 3, 2014).

Passing motorists saved a woman who spent the night outside of her wrecked car in a rural area near Mendon Friday.

Diane R. Mann, 56, of Mendon, was driving west on N. 2100th Ave. at E 1150th St. by herself on Thursday when she lost consciousness, according to police reports. That's when her SUV slid off the roadway and into a deep embankment around 9:45 p.m.

Trooper Mike Kindhart with the Illinois State Police Dist. 20 says that Mann got out of her car and slipped on snow and ice from the creek causing her to fall.

The passing motorists happened to see the top of Mann's SUV at 8:55 a.m. Friday morning.

Mann was taken to Blessing Hospital and treated for hypothermia, frostbite and abrasions.
