McDonough County crack cocaine investigation nets arrest

A Macomb man was arrested drug-related charges.

The McDonough County Sheriff's Office reports Ryan M. Scales, 25, was arrested on a felony McDonough County warrant charging him with one count of delivery of a controlled substance (crack cocaine).

According to Macomb Police Chief Curt Barker and McDonough County Sheriff Rick Van Brooker, Scales was out on bond from a previous arrest on December 17, 2013, where he was charged with three counts of delivery of a controlled substance (crack cocaine), manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance (crack cocaine) and possession of a controlled substance (crack cocaine).

The June arrest stems from an investigation by a Combined Drug Unit into distribution of crack cocaine in McDonough County. That unit is made up of deputies and officers from the Macomb Police Department, the McDonough County Sheriff's Office, the Colchester Police Department, the Blandinsville Police Department, the Bushnell Police Department and the W.I.U Office of Public Safety.

Scales is lodged in the McDonough County Jail on $75,000 bond and more arrests are expected as the investigation continues.
