A three vehicle crash occurred in McDonough County Saturday evening just before 10 p.m.
In a report from the Illinois State Police, two cars driven by minors were traveling west bound on IL Route 9 at 750 E.
Unit 2, a 2010 Honda SUV abruptly applied the brakes to avoid striking a small animal.
Unit 1, a 2004 Audi A6 was following Unit 2 and veered to the left to avoid a rear end collision, when it entered eastbound traffic and struck a 1998 Buick Park Avenue driven by Ronald Bundy, 53 of Blandinsville head on.
Three juveniles were passengers in Unit 1, and two of them had to be extricated from the vehicle, and were then air lifted from the scene.
The other juvenile passenger was transported to McDonough District Hospital, where they were treated and released.
Bundy was also transported to McDonough District Hospital, where he was treated and released.
Drivers of Unit 1 and 2 reported no injuries.
Illinois State Police reported that seat
belts were worn by all occupants and no alcohol was involved.
The driver of Unit 1 was cited for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident and Improper Lane Usage.
