Man wanted for stealing veterans group's money

Quincy police are searching for a man who stole money from a charitable veterans organization.

Quincy Regional Crimestoppers is offering a $200 dollar reward for information leading to the arrest of a man who stole a Great River Honor Flight donation container from the HY-Vee Wine and Spirits at 1852 Broadway St.

The man entered the store shortly before midnight Aug. 23.

As the the store clerk waited on other people, the unidentified man casually took the container and walked away.

"We deal with all different kinds of crimes, we deal with all kids of people who commit crimes," Adams County State's Attorney Jon Barnard said. "I think it's fair to assume that someone who would do something like this, has a special place in our hearts when it comes time to deal with them."
